Clinic Director & Naturopathic Doctor

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.  My name is Dr. Krista Braun, ND and I am a board-certified Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine and an active registrant with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO).  I have had a naturopathic practice in Barrie, Ontario since 2000, with areas of interest in women's health care, including fertility, prenatal and postnatal support, endocrine and hormonal balancing, healthy age and weight management, pediatrics, stress management and mental health, digestive health, biotherapeutic drainage and detoxification, natural skin & body care.  

I have always aspired to be in the health field ever since I was a young child.  I began my post-secondary education at the University of Guelph, where I received my Honours in Bachelor of Science with a focus in Biomedical Science and Nutrition.  While in university, I discovered how perfectly naturopathic medicine encompassed all of the therapies that I had become passionate about, and was ecstatic to be accepted into the 4-year intensive naturopathic program at The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.  Upon graduation, I was eager to embark on my destined career path that resonated so perfectly with my belief system of holistic health. 

During my 23+ years of work in private practice as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, I have gained valuable clinical knowledge and experience while taking the initiative to continually strive to better myself, personally and professionally. 

As a skilled naturopathic doctor, I recognize the importance of taking in-depth patient histories to understand all the factors which impact an individual’s health whether it be mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, social, or environmental.  I also utilize a comprehensive combination of diagnostic and assessment tools, in order to offer customized treatment plans for each client according to their individual needs.  My primary goal is to work towards addressing the underlying cause of a person’s illness.  I strive to inspire individuals on the remarkable ability of the body to heal itself and restore balance while continuing to motivate them toward optimal wellness in the most comprehensive, safe, and non-invasive way.   I am dedicated to educating people on the realization that health requires continual maintenance throughout all stages of life, to achieve life-long wellness. 

As an avid advocate for women's health, I offer Peri-natal Doula healthcare services and have supported women prenatally, during labour and delivery, and postnatally over the past two decades. I have also worked at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine as a Teacher's Assistant for the Obstetrics course in the accredited post-graduate naturopathic medical program. I also completed a Healthy Breast Teacher Training Program and Breast Thermography training to educate and support women on the importance of breast health.  Over the past decade, I have worked alongside Medical Doctors and Nurse Practitioners to provide patients with an integrative Hormone Balancing Program. I value and embrace a holistic and patient-centered approach to my practice, and feel it is crucial to network and communicate with other health professionals to establish a more integrative and well-rounded healthcare system. 

As an adjunct to my naturopathic schooling, I have completed training in Body Talk Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Bowen Therapy, Soul Realignment Therapy, and various energetic and spiritual healing practices in order to offer my clients gentle, hands-on bodywork as a part of healing their mind, body & spirit.  

In 2008, I expanded my skills further to include a Diploma in Aesthetics to incorporate the importance of healthy skincare and detoxification therapies, stress management & self-care techniques to enhance a person’s inner and outer well-being. In my wellness centre, I offer a Naturopathic Skincare Program which combines naturopathic supportive measures such as nutrition, supplementation, detoxification, and lifestyle modifications, along with advanced, effective, and innovative techniques such as Qi Beauty Natural Cosmetic Treatments, Micro-current Muscular Rehabilitation of the face, Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, LED Light Therapy and therapeutic grade organic skin care treatments and home care products to provide benefits that go beyond skin deep, creating vibrant health inside and out.
